Margot To Host “SNL” Season Opener

Margot Robbie To Host ‘SNL’ Season Opener

Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie will host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on October 1. The Weeknd will be musical guest as the NBC late-night staple launches its 42nd season.

SNL is adding three new featured players for the upcoming season: improv performer Alex Moffat and America’s Got Talent finalist Melissa Villaseñor, as well as Mikey Day, who has been a writer on the show since 2013.

The trio would be filling the void left from the recent exit of three cast members, veterans Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah and freshman Jon Rudnitsky.

Moffat, Villaseñor and Day will also make their debut October 1.

Robbie played Harley Quinn in Warner Bros’ Suicide Squad, the studio’s latest in the DC Universe movies. The pic has made $720.8 million globally, and Robbie was widely considered the breakout among the ensemble cast that included Will Smith and Jared Leto.
